#RockReport Varsity vs Brownsburg

Last Friday, the Bulldogs of Brownsburg came to Riverview Health Stadium and defeated the Rocks, 34-14. The loss drops the Rocks to 4-2 on the season (2-2 HCC).

This was a rough one from the opening kickoff. The Rock D was able to hold Brownsburg to a field goal on the opening drive, but they the Dogs blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. Just like that, they had a 10 point lead. The Shamrock offense struggled to get the team back into things, and a late Bulldog interception in the first half led to a 17-0 deficit at the break. Brownsburg would score twice more in the third to extend the lead to 31-0 before the Rocks recovered a fumble and showed some signs of life. The Rocks were able to punch in two scores late, but they game was pretty much in hand by that point.

Special mention should be given to Jackson Anderson, Amarion Ballard, and Dalen Blanding. These Rocks made significant contributions in preparing the team for the Friday contest. During the week, they show us what it means to be united, providing the best possible look for their fellow teammates.

The Rocks will look to build on some of their late game success and attempt to get back in the win column next week when they travel to Avon to take on the Orioles. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
