Tonight, your Rocks will host the Millers from Noblesville. This is the last of our two week rivalry series of games, with the Midland Rail Trophy on the line. Noblesville comes into tonight's game with an 0-3 record, having lost to Cathedral, Carmel, and Fishers. Since 2004, Westfield holds the edge in the rivalry with a 9-7 record against the Millers.
Noblesville has struggled to score the football, averaging only 7 points per game on 74 yards per game (50 ground). They run an option-styled offense that showcases a variety of runners. Senior Elijah Butler (#21) currently leads the team with 32 rushing attempts, notching 35 yards and a touchdown. The entire offense has only completed 6 passes for 72 yards and 1 touchdown across all three games.
Don't let the stats fool you, though, this rivalry is typically a grind-it-out game that may come down to the wire. Expect the Millers to slow things down, hoping to control time of possession and keeping the Shamrock offense off the field. The Rock D will need to capitalize on any opportunities to gain an extra possession for the O, while staying disciplined on the run and play-action game.
It's supposed to rain earlier this evening, so hopefully we will see a drop in temperature and humidity by the time kickoff rolls around. Still, keep your eye on the weather as it could end up being a wet one. No directions needed today. Hope to see you at Riverview Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
