Last Friday, your Rocks traveled to Hamilton Southeastern to take on the Royals, falling 34-10. The loss is the first one on the season, dropping the Rocks to 4-1 (2-1 HCC).
The Rocks had about as good of a start as they could hope for, scoring on the first drive, and then picking off a pass on their first defensive series. The field goal unit converted, and the Rocks had a 10-0 lead to end the first. The Rock D yielded a Royal touchdown in the second, which led to the 10-7 score at the break. In the second half, however, it was all Royals, as they scored 27 unanswered points. The Shamrock offense was simply never able to get going, and the Rock D struggled in the second half.
Special mention should be given to McGwire Graybill, Ian Bruch, and Mario Chalmers. These Rocks made significant contributions in preparing the team for the Friday contest. During the week, they show us what it means to be united, providing the best possible look for their fellow teammates.
Next week, your Rocks will come home to face the Bulldogs of Brownsburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
