On Friday, your Rocks traveled over to Zionsville to face the Eagles, earning a 51-24 victory. The win takes the Rocks to 3-0 on the season, and 1-0 in conference play. Zionsville falls to 2-1 (0-1 HCC).
On offense, the Shamrocks were led by OL Jacob Netral, anchored by the consistent play of the entire offensive line. When you score on the ground with five different runners, it's a good sign that the line is playing it's heart out. The big play for the offense was a stellar catch by WR Mason Piening to give the Rocks a key first down.
The Rock D was led by DL Owen Ogle, and backed by CB Grant Joyce. They held the Eagles to only one score in each of the four quarters, which proved plenty with all of the scoring that the offense accomplished. Shamrock Special Teams were led by Trevor Lickfeldt along with the consistent play of Lyle Beam. Nailing a field goal right before halftime was big for the FG unit and the team as a whole.
Special mention should be given to Jonathan Hernandez, Evan Cannon, and Jonathon Frey. These Rocks made significant contributions in preparing the team for the Friday contest. During the week, they show us what it means to be united, providing the best possible look for their fellow teammates.
Next Friday, your Rocks will host the Noblesville Millers, as the rivalry portion of the schedule continues. Kickoff for the Midland Rail Rivalry game is scheduled for 7pm.
