#RockReport Freshmen vs Zionsville
This Labor Day weekend, the Freshman Rocks of Westfield earned their second consecutive victory in the Battle for the Shining Star against their cross-SR 32 rivals the Zionsville Eagles. Winning by a score of 50-8, many Rocks contributed to this total team effort. Offensive player of the game Levi Harless was nearly impossible to bring down, as he slashed through the Eagle defense, breaking lose for two 70+ yard touchdown runs. Beyond these two runs, Harless, as well as other running backs Bryson Hoover and Jayveon Averitte, charged forward nearly every time they held the ball. This was due to a dominating performance by the offensive line, earning them the award for Mr. Consistency. The five blocks of granite acted as a human wall, paving down everything in its path. Averitte’s touchdown earned him the game’s Big Play award. Defensively, the Rocks found ways to shut down the Eagles’ high-flying offense. Led by defensive player of the game Magwire Graybill, the Rocks played fast and physically. Evan Partlow earned consistency honors for his ability to perform at multiple positions on the defense. The big play award went to the defense on the field during the final drive of the game, as they forced the Zionsville offense off the field. Graybill could not be stopped on either defense or special teams, as he earned player of the week honors there as well for his excellent effort on kickoffs and his clutch onside recovery. Luke Lewis consistently wreaked havoc on the Eagles’ kicking game, including his two point conversion score -- a pass thrown by Evan Partlow. Next Saturday the Rocks will travel to Noblesville to take on their second rival in two weeks -- the Millers of Noblesville. Kickoff is at 10:00 a.m. Go Rocks!
