#RockReport JV @ Brownsburg

The Westfield Junior Varsity football team played their sixth game of the season and fourth conference game on Saturday against ‘Dogs’ of Brownsburg.  The Rocks were in full force on Saturday and executed in all phases of the game scoring touchdowns through the air, on the ground, on defense, and in special teams.

The Rocks offense was able to move the ball at will against a tough Brownsburg defense. Sophomore running back Trevor Lickfeldt was the workhorse for the Rocks scoring three touchdowns and delivering devastating hits on defenders.  The play of the game for the offense came with just seconds left in the half, the Rocks 30 yards from a touchdown, and in a hole with 4th and 7. Sophomore quarterback Camden Simons threw a perfect touchdown pass over the top of Brownsburg defenders to sophomore receiver Mason Cox as he ran a jock dropping double move on the over-aggressive defender.  Sophomore Eli Patchett brought consistency to the Rocks offense with great blocks, difficult catches, and versatility.

The Rocks defense hard nosed and aggressive all day.  They started the day out with a 4th down stop which led to a Rocks touchdown.  The next possession senior Cameron Pike caused a fumble and junior Eric Kriskovich scooped up the loose ball and sprinted in for six points.  Sophomore cornerback and returner  Zach Allen was the player of the game with great hits on defense and great returns during punts.  The punt block team for the Rocks were responsible for a touchdown and a two point conversion resulting in 9 points for the Rocks with their relentless pressure and effort.

The JV Rocks football team will look to keep their momentum going when they play Avon High School on Saturday September 30th  at 10 a.m @ home.
