#RockReport - noblesville

Varsity Football secured the Midland Rail trophy with their defeat of the Noblesville Millers on Friday, 17-14.

Offensively, the Shamrocks pounded the football. Elvin Caldwell carried the full load and shined behind the consistent blocking of the offensive line. No series was bigger than the final one that saw the Rocks push down the field and punch the ball in to take the lead for the final time.

The Rock Defense had a stellar night, holding the Millers to a scant 14 points. Mitch Turley was the player of the game, providing several key plays including a diving interception on the Rock 1 yard line. Keyonte Crawford and Nick Krieg frustrated the Miller run game all night, holding the visiting team to a paltry -2 rushing yards with sack after sack. Turner Edwards also continued his trend, intercepting a pass and playing lock-down defense at corner.

Shamrock Special Teams flipped the field with punts a couple times on the leg of Josh Estridge. Plenty of consistent play was found in this phase, with Ryan Wonderlin, Mitch Turley, Matt Kinney, and Cameron Harrison contributing. Matt Crupi had the big play on special teams, recovering a Miller turnover.

Special mention should be given to Zach Krieg, Will McCool, Jacob Pence, Colin White, and Jamarcus Davis. These Rocks made significant contributions in preparing the team for the Friday contest. They had their fins up throughout the week, providing the best possible look for their fellow teammates.

Resolve to support Rocks Football next Friday, when Westfield will look to end the regular season on a high note in Lafayette, facing the Jefferson Bronchos. Kickoff is at 7:00pm.
