The Freshmen Rocks of Westfield traveled to Fishers on Monday, October 10th for a conference showdown against the Tigers. Although the Rocks fought very hard until the very end, they fell short of their goal, finishing the game with a score of 28-14.
Offensively, the Rocks came out with a great first drive, as running back Trevor Lickfeldt pushed the ball downfield. Quarterback Camden Simons opened up the game as well with his passing, finding Eli Patchett, Mason Cox, and Dane Wheeler for big plays. Lickfeldt capped the drive with a run into the end zone, making the score 7-0.
The Rocks defense played very strong in the first half, forcing the ball out of the hands of the Tigers. Eli Patchett made a multitude of tackles, and the rotation of linemen forced minimal gains by the Tigers.
Coming out of halftime with the score tied at 7, the Rock O took charge once again and forced the ball down field. Trevor Lickfeldt executed a big run down to the red zone that set up a Zack Allen touchdown.
Ultimately, the Tigers gained the upper hand, winning the game 28-14. The Rocks are excited to finish the season strong this year as they take on the freshman team of Hamilton Heights this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Riverview Health Stadium. Please come out and support these great young men!
