#Gameday Rocks vs Tigers

Tonight, your Rocks will travel to Fishers to take on the Tigers. They come into the game with a 2-5 record (2-3 HCC). Their conference losses came at the hands of HSE, Brownsburg, and Avon, while they've beaten Noblesville and Franklin Central (last week).

The Tigers are averaging 16 points on 296 yards per game (194 air). They are led by senior QB Lucas Prewitt (#17) who has put up a 112-1358-9 stat line on the year. His favorite target has been junior WR Jeffrey Simmons (#86). Simmons has really come alive in the past two weeks, and has a 40-505-1 stat line on the year. His counterpart, senior Landon Morris has also posted a 32-492-5 stat line and represents a solid one-two punch through the air. The ground game has been a bit of a committee with Prewitt and sophomore Carson Dunn (#33) each notching 3 TDs a piece.

After a big conference wins the last couple of weeks, the Rocks will come in heavily favored in this one. Fishers has struggled to contain the top half of the conference, and the Shamrock offense has been putting up some solid numbers as of late. Still, the Rock D will need to restrain a resurgent Tiger passing attack. There are no free victories in the HCC, and so Westfield will need to execute cleanly in order to earn a solid road win tonight and stay on top of the conference.

Limited tickets are available. If you can't make it out to see us in person, check out the free stream we shared separately. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#Gameday Rocks vs Orioles

Tonight, your Rocks will host the Orioles of Avon. They come in with an even 3-3 record (2-2 HCC). They're on a two game win streak after losses to HSE and Brownsburg, beating Fishers last week and Franklin Central the week before.

The Orioles are averaging 38.8 points per game on 424.5 yards (268.7 air). They are led by senior QB Henry Hesson (#10) who has put up a 79-1493-19 stat line this year. His favorite target is senior WR Wallace Stovall (#13) with 37-601-5. In the red zone, Hesson will really look for senior TE Remington Gall (#85) who has 20 receptions for 9 touchdowns. Avon's top rusher is junior Chrishon Mccray (#2) who has a 74-463-5 stat line. Make no mistake, Avon is an explosive air raid type team. They will look to challenge the Shamrock secondary this week, in quite a contrast to the strong running games that the Rocks have faced previously.

Ticket rationing is still in effect for Riverview Health Stadium. If you can't make it out to see us in person, check out the free stream we shared separately. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#Gameday Rocks vs Bulldogs

Tonight, your Rocks will travel to Brownsburg to face the Bulldogs. Brownsburg comes into the game with a pristine 5-0 record (3-0 HCC) having run roughshod over the conference competition so far. They blew Fishers out 42-6 last week.

The Bulldogs are averaging 38 points per game on 403 yards (209 air). They are led by senior QB Ben Easters (#10) who has posted a 67-962-8 stat line this year with a 97.8 QBR. His favorite targets are fellow seniors Preston Terrell (#1) and Luke Lacey (#5). The dynamic duo have combined for a 49-791-7 receiving line. Sophomore Caleb Marcus (#20) provides explosiveness out of the backfield to the tune of 73-564-9 with a 7.7 yards per carry average.

This will likely be the toughest challenge the Rocks have faced thus far. Brownsburg has been destroying opponents, and is ranked #2 in the state for 6A. Not only has their offense been putting up points, but their defense has held a majority of opponents to single digit scoring. Westfield will need to be locked in tonight and play their best all-around game so far this season in order to earn the W.

Tickets are still in short supply, and this week there is no free streaming option. Brownsburg's paid streaming option will let you see the game from a distance, and the link has been shared separately. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#GameDay Rocks vs Royals

Tonight, your Rocks will host the Hamilton Southeastern Royals. Both teams come into the contest at 3-1 (2-0 HCC). HSE has beaten Fishers and Avon in the first two weeks of conference play. Their lone loss was to North Central by 1 point in Week 2.

The Royals are averaging 21 points on 232 yards per game (130 rushing). They are led by senior QB John McCall (#18). He's posted a 35-409-4 passing stat line, completing 67% of his attempts. He's also tacked on a 35-183-2 rushing line. In the run game, junior Blaine Wertz (#20) has added 54-238-4 in his own right, giving the Royals a potent 1-2 punch. Junior Martice Taylor (#80) is McCall's favorite passing target, with a 11-180-2 stat line. On defense, the Royals boast a pair of talented sophomores in Evan Sherill (#92; averaging 2 sacks per game) and Cole Earlewine (#8; 5.7 tackles per game).

HSE is currently ranked #8 in the 6A AP poll, so the Rocks will have their work cut out for them tonight. The Rock D will need to find a way to bottle the dynamic running offense of the Royals, caging a QB who has given fits to opponents in previous weeks. The Shamrock offense will need to protect their own QB from Royal pressure, and make use of their own electric scorers.

Ticket limiting is still in effect, and we will be sharing the streaming link shortly. Hope to have your support whether in-person or on the Internet. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#GameDay Rocks at Noblesville

Tonight, your Rocks will travel to Beaver Materials Stadium to face the Noblesville Millers. This is the second of two games in the rivalry portion of the schedule, so the Midland Rail Traveling Trophy is on the line. The Millers come into the game at 1-2 (0-1 HCC) on the season. They lost to Fishers last week 0-21.

Noblesville averages 22.3 points on 269 yards per game (242 rushing). They run a unique "tower T" offense that features their big offensive line and multiple running backs. They have four players with over 20 carries and 100 yards on the year so far. Junior QB Conner Meinerding (#5) has only passed the ball 13 times through three games with no touchdowns through the air. On defense, their top two tacklers are Skylar Tolliver (#2) and Mason Bohland (#38) who are each averaging 6.7 tackles per game.

Look for this to be a grind-it-out slog-fest where every possession matters, and big line play will be showcased. The Rocks will need to be stout and stop the run on defense, while coming out hot on offense early like last week. The Millers will want to control both scrimmage and time of possession. Limiting mistakes and turnovers will be crucial.

We've shared the streaming link separately, as ticket limitations continue. We hope to have your support whether virtually or in person! Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#Gameday Rocks vs Eagles

Tonight, your Rocks will host the Eagles of Zionsville with the Shining Star Rivalry trophy on the line. Both teams enter the game with a 1-1 record, Zionsville having demolished Lebanon last week after losing a close one to Pike in week 1. This will be the conference opener for both teams.

The Eagles are led by senior QB Josh Stone (#6) who is 36/55 for 473 yards and 5 TDs on the year. He'll spread the ball evenly among a plethora of targets, with a solid handful of different receivers notching touchdowns through the air so far. On the ground, they are anchored by senior RB Jacob Horten (#32) and junior RB Colin Price (#33). Both backs have over 100 yards on the year. Price, in particular, has shown some electric play-making abilities with 2 touchdowns and 184 yards on only 10 carries, as well as a second pair of receiving touchdowns on only 4 receptions. The defense is led by Owen Rossell (#13) and Shane Bates (#41), who have both notched double digit tackles through two games.

The Rocks look to build on last week's dominating performance against Harrison in order to keep possession of the rivalry trophy. As usual, tickets are limited so the streaming link for this game has been shared separately. Kickoff is set for 7pm.

#Gameday Rocks vs Raiders

Tonight, your Rocks will host the Raiders from William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, IN. The Raiders come into the contest on a high note, having opened their season with a victory for the first time in a decade. They defeated Terre Haute South Vigo last week, 42-13.

The Raiders are led by senior RB Omarion Dixon (#47). Dixon racked up 146 yards and 4 scores last week on 16 carries. Junior QB Tyler Knoy (#2) added 121 yards and a score on two explosive carries. Junior LB Thomas Urban (#15) led the defense with 8 tackles.

The Rocks will look to rebound from an abysmal outing last week in an attempt to get back to .500 with a win. The Rock D will need to stop an efficient and explosive Raider option offense, while the Shamrock offense will need to eliminate the early turnovers that plagued them last week. The IndyStar predicts a 35-24 Rocks final, but it is looking to be a good, close contest in any case.

As with last week, tickets are limited and pandemic rules must be followed on-site. The streaming link for this game has been shared separately, so cheer us on from wherever you may be!

Green Vs Gold Scrimmage

For obvious reasons, the start to this season has been bizarre to say the least. We have no idea what the season is going to look like in the end, nor how long we'll be able to enjoy one another's company on the field. So, we're just trying to work hard and enjoy whatever time we are given to practice and play the sport we love. This group of Rocks has already shown incredible perseverance and adaptability, putting in the effort on their own even when we weren't allowed to congregate.

We've all been looking forward to getting back on the field, and this week provided some of our first official looks at the 2020 Rocks. We were able to hold our annual Green vs Gold scrimmage this Saturday, and had a blast competing against one another. We wanted to share a picture from the event, just so you all know we're out there working hard and doing our best to appreciate every second we get to spend with each other this season.

Stay safe out there!

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Drive

We received the following letter from our player's family, and wanted to pass along the information. Several of our players are teaming up to take on this challenge, and we're certainly proud of their competitive spirit for a good cause.

Owen Ogle is one of 20 area high school students competing for the title of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Student of the Year by raising the most money during a 7 week campaign which ends with the Grand Finale on Saturday, March 14th. Owen is the only Westfield candidate, competing against 19 other candidates in neighboring communities (Carmel, HSE, Noblesville, Brebeuf, Cathedral, etc). But, he isn't doing this alone, a team of 10, including several teammates, are all working to help him reach his goal of raising $125,000 for LLS. We would love for the entire community, especially our football family, to rally behind Owen's team: "Owen Tackles Cancer" and help a Westfield student WIN!!!

You can read more about the campaign and leave a donation by clicking one of the team member's link below (all team members count toward Owen's campaign):

Thank you for helping make a difference!
