#RockReport JV @Noblesville

Fell a little behind on posting this week. JV results here with Freshmen incoming...

The Westfield Junior Varsity football team played their fourth game of the season and second conference game on Saturday against the team just east on US 32.  The Rocks were “physical” and “surgical” according to two varsity Rocks coaches, which resulted in a 42-7 lead for the Rocks in the 3rd finishing with a 42-21 victory.

The Rocks offense was efficient all day scoring on nearly every drive on the day.  Sophomore QB Camden Simons was the Offensive Player of the Game with two passing touchdowns both to sophomore wide receiver Mason Cox.  Simons also scored on a 60+ yard run.  The offensive line played their most physical game of the year according to offensive line coach Robert  Patchett.  The offensive linemen including sophomores Griffin Burge, Alex Juarez, Juniors Justin Case, and Jacob Netral played outstanding all game.

The Rocks defense and special teams started shaky but had an outstanding recovery and finish to the game.  Junior Cooper Boehm played very fast and physical causing two fumbles, one recovered by sophomore Griffin Pope and the other recovered by sophomore Owen Ogle.  Juniors Sean Sykes and Zach Collins were players of the game for defense.  Sykes made a great play for an interception before the half which led to the Rocks 4th score of the half.  The play of the night came on the Rocks first kick-off after their first drive of the second half.  The opposing team bobbled the kick and ran around near their end zone for several seconds.  Collins delivered a devastating blow causing a fumble into the end zone and Pope recovered the loose ball for the final touchdown.

The JV Rocks football team will look to keep their momentum going when they play Hamilton Southeastern High School on Saturday September 16th  at 10 a.m @ home.
